As a universe creator with a passion for game strategy, I couldn’t refuse to join the team behind Kronika, an extremely promising card game with a solid foundation and a very active community of enthusiasts and testers.
Wanting a complex and coherent universe as the foundation of the game, the publisher called on my services for the elaboration of Kronika’s Lore, as well as for the writing of numerous texts and my participation in the further elaboration of the cards and the balancing of the game.
Living Card Game (LCG) ?
Kronika is a game experience in which each box or pack contains a defined number and type of cards. No random booster. Players know what they’re buying each time, so they can add to their collection as they see fit.
An original universe
Plunge into the heart of Eskia, a universe devastated by the Great Collapse and the war between the ancient Deas. Discover the new beliefs and motivations of mortals in the heart of this dark world, now dominated by the great Churches that have risen up in these ruined territories.
Take control of a Chosen One whose abilities are as extraordinary as they are disturbing. They are the ones who inspire mortals and govern the rules of their respective dogmas. Learn to harness the power of these fearsome women with their sometimes troubled and tragic pasts. The gameplay
Kronika’s cards are based on a recruitment cost system. Each card belongs to a type: recruit, creature (the first two having a power value), event or object.
However, a much more strategic dimension is added, as you deploy your army on a battlefield, represented by a grid. The aim is to move your Chosen to collect the Iari Stones that randomly fall on the board. Mobilize your troops to defend your Chosen and clear the enemy ranks.
From testing to financing
The game has been undergoing testing for several years, and continues to evolve following trial sessions at conventions. The first introductory decks were created to further strengthen this essential creative phase.
Kronika is gradually moving towards financing, and we hope that more and more players will follow us in their quest for this new gaming experience, and that the community will grow as much as our ambition for Kronika!
